52 Ochanomizu／御茶ノ水

Ochanomizu is a town of students.  There are Meiji University, Nihon University, Tokyo Medical and Dental University and Juntendo University and many prep schools.  It is also known as a town of musical instrument shops.

I studied at Sundai prep school when I was a high school student.  Although prep school is a place to study for entrance examination of universities, we really enjoyed the classes, such as Japanese history by Mr. Takanori Shintani, who eventually became an honorary professor of the National Museum of Japanese History.

I first came to Koseto Coffee Shop almost 40 years ago when I was a high school student.  Even now, I come to this coffee shop once or twice in a couple of years.

The large renovation of Ochanomizu station has been under construction for more than 10 years and come close to the end.
