Nishi-waseda station is located under Meiji Avenue. On the east side of the Meiji Avenue are Gakushuin Women’s Collage, which will be merged with Gakushuin University in 2026, and Toyama High Shool.

On the west side of Meiji Avenue are the Faculty of Science and Engineering of Waseda University (Nishi-waseda Campus), Toyama Park. An old public housing development and an old Shinto shrine are located on the north side of Toyama Park.

Around the large site of schools, park and housing development, which used to be the maneuvering ground and the schools of Japanese army before the WWII, are ordinary residential areas. I took the picture while listening to the piano music played in the left house.

Old Japanese style lodging houses remain in this area, although they are not many and decreasing.
