03 Tabata／田端

Tabata station is located where the steep slope from west upland to east low land ends.  Below is a picture of Tabata station taken from the edge of upland.  Railway tracks on the low land ground level cross under the main road.

There is a huge railway yard in the north-east neighboring area of Tabata station.

Because the east neighboring area of Tabata station is surrounded by railway lines, this island like area is somewhat shadowy.

The west upland is a quiet residential area.  Around 1900-1930, many artists, writers and poets (Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Saisei Murou, etc.) lived in this area.  The animation film “Weathering with You” pictures this area (the heroin Hina lives in this area).
